Meet Danielle
Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner & Functional Medicine Practitioner
Hello!

I am Danielle.

A board-certified nurse practitioner and integrative medicine practitioner who is passionate about elevating health and cultivating resilience in the body. I specialize in longevity medicine, where I assist adults in reaching their optimal health potential--no matter what chapter of life they are in!

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009 at Towson University. I went on to work as a registered nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center in the NeuroCare Intensive Care Unit. I completed my Masters in Nursing with concentration in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care Health in 2013. I became board-certified as an Adult and Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in 2014 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and have been in practice since that time.

When I started practicing as a nurse practitioner in primary care, I realized something important: my traditional training had prepared me to manage symptoms of chronic disease, but it didn’t show me how to truly prevent them. I was grateful for my master’s degree and the tools it gave me, yet I felt there was a deeper level of healing my patients needed. I wanted to do more than offer the familiar “eat healthy and exercise.” I wanted to help the patient with borderline blood sugar stay off the path to diabetes. I became passionate about finding inflammation early and supporting the body in healing it naturally. And, ultimately, I wanted to teach patients how to calm their nervous system—because I believe true, lasting health begins there.

In addition to my Master’s level training, I am also certified as a Functional Medicine Provider (IFMCP) through the Institute for Functional Medicine. This extra certification has taught me to apply a systems-biology approach to identify the root underlying contributing factors of health ailments. My patients and I work together to improve their health markers, their symptoms, and their quality of life.

What is Functional Medicine?
The functional medicine model is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.

By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. They may find one condition has many different causes and, likewise, one cause may result in many different conditions. As a result, functional medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual.
