I’m a nurse practitioner, wife, mother, and a believer in holistic healing. My special interest is in premenopausal women's health, fertility, and postpartum care. I am devoted to assisting others in reaching their optimal health potential.
I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009 at Towson University. I went on to work as a registered nurse at the University of Maryland Medical Center in the NeuroCare Intensive Care Unit. While working as a RN, I began taking graduate level classes at the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore. I completed my Masters in Nursing with concentration in Adult and Geriatric Primary Care Health in 2013. I became board certified as an Adult and Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in 2014 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and have been in practice since that time.
When I began practicing as a nurse practitioner in primary care, I found that my conventional medical training provided me with tools to alleviate symptoms, but I was not taught how to find the underlying cause of the symptoms. I became frustrated with the current healthcare model, and felt that I did not have enough time to properly address my patient’s chronic healthcare needs. After discovering integrative medicine for my own health, I became passionate about making this service more available to others.
In addition to my Master’s level training, I am currently working on certifications through the School for Applied Functional Medicine, and Institute for Functional Medicine. I have studied Fertility Optimization through the Integrative Women's Health Institute. Additionally, I am also certified in Meditation through the KEW Academy, and am currently working on certifications in Reiki and Acupressure.
I love spending time with my husband, Brett, and our daughter Maeve. I enjoy being outside, walking and exercising, boating, cooking, and reading. I value education, and continue to seek new learning opportunities every day.
I love empowering and motivating patients to understand what their bodies need so that they can thrive, not just survive. As a practitioner of integrative medicine, I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between western medicine and functional medicine, while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal. My goal is to help my client see that his/her body is resilient, and that it can absolutely achieve its natural homeostasis.
